FOUR AND A HALF BEACON REVIEW FOR TAMMI AND HER DRAGON
by Sami Cowsert
Tammi And Her Dragon is a mythical story about a little girl who befriends a magical dragon she met when wandering through the woods looking for wild flowers. Winston takes Tammi on adventures to far away places, introducing her to other enchanting creatures, but he also helps her through her troubles. When a school bully confronts her, Winston comes to her rescue, and when Tammi is faced with the insecurities of having a new baby sister, he points out the Blessings the new addition would bring to her life.
This story teaches the value of giving, and the fallbacks of always wanting something better than what you already have. As I got into it, I enjoyed this short story, as I believe most children will as well. It's full of the fairytale value most of us grew up with, but there is a valuable lesson with each chapter. It's the perfect gift for children in the 7-12 age range.
